Llandudno Junction FC Appoint Anthony Wilkinson as First Team Manager

Llandudno Junction FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Anthony Wilkinson as our new First Team Manager, with Rhys Smith joining him as Assistant Manager ahead of the 2026/27 season

Ant arrives at the club with over a decade of coaching experience and an excellent reputation for developing young players. Having previously coached at Penrhyn Bay FC, Colwyn Bay Academy and Llandudno FC, he has helped many players progress through the local game and into senior football.

His appointment reflects the club's commitment to building on the exciting foundations already in place, continuing to develop our talented young squad while creating a competitive, hard-working team that our supporters can be proud of.

Speaking after his appointment, Anthony said:

"For over 10 years, I've had the privilege of coaching at several fantastic clubs, including Penrhyn Bay FC, Colwyn Bay Academy and Llandudno FC. Throughout that time, I've been passionate about helping young players develop both on and off the pitch, supporting them to reach their potential and progress through the local leagues.

It has been incredibly rewarding to see many of those players go on to compete at a high level, and knowing I've played a small part in their journey is something I'm extremely proud of.

Now, I'm excited to begin this new chapter at Llandudno Junction FC. I can't wait to get started with the players, staff and supporters as we work together to build something special. I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead and seeing where our journey takes us this season."

Joining Ant is Rhys Smith, who takes on the role of Assistant Manager.

Rhys has been involved in football from a young age, having played throughout his youth before becoming a qualified referee across North Wales. His experience from both a player's and referee's perspective has given him an excellent understanding of the game and the standards expected at all levels.

He brings passion, enthusiasm and a proactive attitude to Llandudno Junction FC and is committed to supporting the players and coaching staff both on and off the pitch.

Looking ahead to the new season, Rhys said:

"Football has always been a massive passion of mine, both as a player and a qualified referee. I'm excited to bring my knowledge and enthusiasm to the club, and after such a positive pre-season, I can't wait to get the season started and see what we can achieve together."
