The Lea Legacy Continues!

As our beloved Junction Dragons come to the end of their junior football journey and

the team progresses into men's football, Head Coach Mark Lea has decided to step down from coaching to spend some well-deserved time with his family and to enjoy watching his daughter continue her football journey at a high level.

Mark has had a tremendous time with the Dragons, not only as a successful coach but also as a mentor and role model to the many young players who are now making the transition into the men's game. During his time in charge, Mark led the Dragons to an incredible five consecutive league titles, creating memories and achievements that will forever be part of the club's history.

While Mark has built a team full of talented footballers, his greatest achievement has been helping to shape an outstanding group of young men. His commitment, encouragement and guidance have inspired the players both on and off the pitch, and his influence will stay with them long after their junior football journey has ended. Mark will be greatly missed not only as a coach but as a mentor, friend and role model to so many.

Mark has also been an outstanding volunteer, committee member, friend and coach to Llandudno Junction FC. He has given up countless hours to coach, organise, lead and support the club, always willing to help whenever needed—even putting his electrical skills to good use around the club! Volunteers like Mark are the backbone of grassroots football, and we cannot thank him enough for everything he has done over the years.

We would also like to place on record our sincere thanks to Karl Cheung and Sean McGoona for their fantastic support and commitment alongside Mark over the years. Their hard work, dedication and willingness to help have played a huge part in the success of the Dragons, and the club is incredibly grateful for everything they have done. We wish Karl and Sean all the very best for the future and thank them for the countless hours they have given to Llandudno Junction FC.

But it's not all sad news... As Mark steps away from coaching, the Lea family legacy continues. With his son Alex now turning 16, he has decided to begin his coaching journey alongside his refereeing commitments. Alex will be assisting Dan Parry with our brand-new Under-8s team for the coming season.

We are delighted to welcome Alex as the youngest coach in the club's history and look forward to supporting him as he develops into what we hope will be a fantastic football coach. Alex has already made a brilliant impression by helping with our Fun Football sessions, beginning his coaching journey at the very same club where his own football journey started eight years ago.

Thank you, Mark, Karl and Sean, for your outstanding commitment, dedication and friendship. You have all played a huge part in the success of the Dragons and in the wider development of Llandudno Junction FC. We wish you every success and happiness for the future, and you will always be welcome back at the Junction.
